My how the time flies….I remember being 20 something and if I cut out one meal a day I could lose weight. For ladies along the way or in the same age bracket as me ~ we are in this together. I hope you enjoy my blog posts about my #FABFIT50 journey as I approach 50 years old.
What motivates you? How do you get the mental and physical energy to workout or achieve fitness goals? For me, seeing someone I know achieve the results that I want is a big motivator. It started over a year ago when a friend competed in a bikini competition. I saw the hard work she was putting in and I saw the amazing results she achieved. The little voice in my head said, “I want to look like that”. A few months later at a Chuck-E-Cheese birthday party she invited me to join her to compete in the next bikini competition. I said, “Let’s do it”.
I began researching what I had actually committed to, started interviewing trainers and really evaluating if I could make the changes needed to achieve this fitness goal by my 50th birthday. I took several weeks contemplating the sacrifices and commitment required and I decided to GO FOR IT!
I decided to hire the trainer, make the commitment, make the sacrifices, do what is needed to prepare for the competition. I am still on the fence about actually competing in the competition. More to come on that.
